Stoma care products
PHAREX offers a wide range of stoma care products along with the corresponding complementary accessories. We provide both one-piece and two-piece stoma systems, including bags (closed, drainable, transparent, opaque, with filters, without filters, etc.) and various types of wafers.
The core of all ConvaTec stoma care products is an adhesive layer made of Stomahesive® material. This is a combination of natural substances and other components that provide excellent healing properties. Protected by a global patent.
Our products cater to all types of stomas: colostomy, ileostomy, and urostomy.
Two-piece stoma system Natura® + and Natura®
Natura® + and Natura® bags are available in closed, drainable, and urostomy versions, in beige or transparent. Natura® + bags offer the latest technology from ConvaTec:
The Natura® + and Natura® two-piece stoma system from ConvaTec offers the widest range of products within the two-piece system. Natura® wafers ensure a secure, precise seal with several audible “clicks.” The simple fastening and unfastening by snapping allow users to quickly change the bag and continue their activities without removing the wafer from the skin.
• Filter with a protective film to prevent clogging
• Soft, non-crinkling material
• InvisiClose™ non-clamp closure
• Lock-it Pocket™ (storage pouch) that securely hides the outlet and provides the benefits of a closed bag
• A transparent window for stoma inspection, discreetly covered with nonwoven fabric
ConvaTec’s moldable technology creates an elastic sealing collar with memory, which adapts to any size and shape of the stoma. This “turtle-neck” collar helps seal the appliance to the stoma, thereby protecting the skin.
One-piece stoma system
The one-piece system, which is gentle on the skin, offers security and ease of use. The flexible and discreet Esteem® + one-piece system is a two-in-one solution that combines the wafer and bag into one unit, allowing for easy, safe, and comfortable use.
The wafer on the bag gently and securely adheres to the skin, ensuring that the device stays in place.
Esteem® + one-piece system features the latest technology from ConvaTec, including:
- The most advanced filter with a layer of film to prevent clogging, keeping the bag deflated while virtually eliminating odors.
- InvisiClose™ drainable system with a secure, easily and quickly attachable Velcro closure.
- Lock-It-Pocket® system (storage pocket) that safely hides the outlet and provides the benefits of a closed bag.
- Comfortable non-woven fabric on the bag’s surface, which is soft and smooth against the skin, almost noiseless, waterproof, and quick-drying.
- A transparent window for stoma inspection, covered with non-woven fabric for added discretion.
Wound Healing
ConvaTec Dressings are reliable for wound care, offering protection to the skin and contributing to comfort, simplicity, and excellent healing effects. The soft and pleasant material enhances the patient’s comfort during treatment. These dressings are used as both primary and secondary dressings for treating various types of wounds, including ulcers, pressure sores, diabetic ulcers, burns, and other conditions. Proper dressing selection helps shorten the healing process and reduces overall treatment costs.
A unique solution combines the revolutionary AQUACEL® Ag + technology with the proven Hydrofiber® technology, addressing three critical barriers that hinder successful wound healing:
• Excessive exudate
• Infection
• Biofilm
AQUACEL® Ag + dressings work through the synergistic cooperation of these two powerful technologies, assisting in managing the barriers that impede wound healing.
Ag+ technology
The AQUACEL® Ag+ technology is a unique combination of ionic silver and biofilm-reducing agents (such as EDTA and BeCl). This advanced wound care solution works by:
• Breaking down biofilm: The silver ions and the biofilm-disrupting components like EDTA and BeCl target and dismantle the sticky biofilm layer that forms around bacteria, preventing the bacteria from adhering to the wound.
• Killing a broad spectrum of bacteria: Including antibiotic-resistant bacteria (superbugs), silver ions have antimicrobial properties that effectively kill bacteria, even those resistant to common antibiotics.
• Preventing the reformation of biofilm: This combination also prevents the biofilm from reforming, which is crucial for ongoing infection control and wound healing.
This approach helps to reduce the infection and inflammation associated with chronic wounds, making it particularly effective for difficult-to-heal wounds such as diabetic ulcers and pressure sores.
Hydrofiber® technology
The Hydrofiber® technology plays a vital role in wound healing by creating an optimal environment for healing while enhancing the effectiveness of the AQUACEL® Ag+ technology.
Locks in excess exudate, bacteria, and biofilm: This helps minimize the risk of cross-contamination and infection, preventing maceration of surrounding healthy skin.
Microcontouring of the wound bed: This technology maintains the ideal moisture balance and eliminates dead spaces in the wound, where bacteria can proliferate.
Reacts to wound conditions: It forms a cohesive gel when it comes into contact with exudate, creating a moist environment that aids healing. Additionally, it helps reduce pain during dressing changes by conforming to the wound bed.
